DR. REID
Men’s Health, Optimization & Weight Management
About DR. REID
Hi! My name is Dr. Reid, I’m a licensed naturopathic doctor and acupuncturist based at the Institute of Complementary Medicine in Seattle, Washington. I graduated from Bastyr University where I concurrently completed a rigorous, four-year naturopathic medical degree and a Masters of Acupuncture (MAc). In addition, I received extensive pre- and post-graduate training and certifications (see below) in hormone therapy, physical medicine modalities, and weight management.
My health philosophy is strongly influenced by my upbringing in Hawaii, a place known as a cultural melting pot and the perfect meeting point for western and eastern healing systems. Growing up, my mom instilled in us the belief that the body can heal itself if it’s supported with the biopsychosocial factors needed to thrive. As a doctor, I take an integrative and research-based approach to patient care, utilizing clinical diagnosis and standard and specialty lab testing to determine the best course of action. I believe that effective primary care is found at the intersection of established standards of care, clinical decision making, and purposeful application of traditional modalities.
I firmly believe that optimal health is achieved through a partnership between the healthcare provider and the patient. My goal is to educate and empower patients to participate in their health. Rather than dictate a treatment plan, we’ll work together to establish healthful routines that are sustainable and effective. Your treatment plan may include diet and lifestyle modification, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, herbal medicine, IV and injection therapy, and physical medicine. I also believe in collaboration within the healthcare system and will refer to specialized providers when indicated.
